Xbox One X Launch Drives 14% Revenue Growth for Xbox Hardware, 8% Growth for Microsoft’s Gaming

Now Microsoft announced its financial results for its second quarter. Presentation and the press release included information on the state of the Xbox company.

Gaming revenue grew by 8 percent driven by a sizable 14% boost in hardware sales due to the launch of the Xbox One X in November. Gaming software and solutions revenue also climbed 4%, while Xbox Live active consumers grew 7to 59 million. This also reveals a substantial rise from the 53 million MAU reported to the quarter.

The aforementioned growth in gaming revenue drove a 2 percent sales increase for the whole Personal Computing” section, although margins for gambling diminished with the launch of the Xbox One X. This is quite normal when a new console starts.
